Two Dodge models have super powerful modifications

Dodge

Dodge, owned by FCA (FIAT-Chrysler), has introduced new high-powered modifications of its Durango (full-size SUV) and Charger (full-size sedan) models, the first has the SRT Hellcat prefix in the name, the second - the SRT Hellcat Redeye. Both can rightfully be considered the most powerful serial representatives of their class.

From other versions of Durango SRT Hellcat and Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye differ both technically and externally. The SUV is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 engine with a capacity of 710 hp, it works with an 8-speed "automatic" 8HP95 and an all-wheel drive transmission. Under the hood, the sedan has the same engine, but its return is even higher - 797 hp. Gearbox - 8-speed "automatic" 8HP90, rear-wheel drive. At the same time, the sedan has a lot of parts from the small-scale Dodge Challenger Demon - an engine computer, a gearbox, a compressor, connecting rods and pistons, a valve mechanism, a fuel system, and a cooling system.

The dynamic performance of the cars is impressive: both the SUV and the sedan take 3.5 seconds to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h). The distance of 1/4 mile, the so-called quarter, cars pass in 11.5 and 10.6 seconds, their maximum speed is 290 and 327 km / h.

Outwardly, new items can be distinguished from less powerful modifications by new fine-mesh radiator grilles, extended wheel arches, large R20 rims, nameplates, other bumpers and side skirts. The hoods of the cars have an embossed shape, among other features - a special color (Durango is distinguished by a black stripe along the upper body, Charger - painted in glossy black hood, roof and trunk lid).

In the interior of the cars, sports seats trimmed with Laguna leather with Alcantara inserts are installed; in the Durango, they are additionally equipped with heating and ventilation functions. The SUV also has a new electronic instrument cluster, a Uconnect 5 media system with a 10.1-inch screen (the sedan has a multimedia display diagonal of 8.4 inches), among other interior features of both models are new door cards, as well as SRT inscriptions. By the way, photos of the interior of the Dodge sedan have not yet been published.

Orders for the Durango SRT Hellcat and Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye will be accepted by American dealers in the fall of this year, with deliveries starting in early 2021. There is no information about the cost of cars yet.
