The American company Dodge, which is part of the Stellantis concern, has released the fastest car in its history - the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 coupe.

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 was created as a production car as close as possible to drag racing cars. Recall that drag racing is a competition of super-powerful prototypes popular in the USA over short distances in a straight line (usually a quarter-mile segment, i.e. 402 meters, is taken).

According to Dodge, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 accelerates from standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 1.66 seconds, and covers a quarter-mile distance from a standstill in 8.91 seconds, reaching a speed of 243.28 km/h. h on a mixture of ethanol and gasoline as fuel.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 engine - a 6.2-liter V8 - is equipped with a high-performance drive air supercharger that raises the compression ratio to 0.59 kg / cm3, but only when using a fuel mixture of ethanol with gasoline in a ratio of at least 65/35, due to low knock the ability of ethanol. In this mode, the engine develops a maximum power of 1025 hp. When using pure gasoline, the power does not exceed 900 hp.

The Challenger SRT Demon 170 comes stock with drag-specific Mickey Thompson ET Street R semi-slick tires, 315/50R17 rear and 245/55R18 front.

The appointment of the Challenger SRT Demon 170 also gives away its options list, which includes such exotics as a drag chute.

The novelty will be released in a limited edition of 3,300 copies, 3,000 of which will be sold in the United States, the rest in Canada.
