Chinese Chery Automobile has introduced a new development under its sub-brand Jetour - a mid-size five-door SUV T-X. In fact, this is only a detailed demonstration model, its purpose is to reveal the exterior of the future production car.

The Jetour T-X is based on the new Jetour T frame platform, which is available with 1.0 to 3.0 liter petrol turbo engines, a series-type hybrid or a purely electric system. The chassis will be sharpened for off-road operation of the car, it is planned to use a differential lock.

The T-X has a deliberately two-volume exterior with a prominent horizontal hood and a slight slope of the windshield. Attention is drawn to the body pillars painted in black lacquer, the bumpers highlighted graphically and in volume (imitate power ones), as well as the fine workmanship of the body sidewall plastics. Separate solutions - for example, a "floating" roof, a "flat" stern and vertical lights - Jetour T-X resembles a new generation of English Land Rover Defender. With the solution of the front end with a single composition of headlights and a radiator grille, the sample has something in common with the WEY Tank 300 SUV from the rival Great Wall Motor concern. The overall length of the Jetour T-X is about 4.6 m.

A production car with a look inspired by the Jetour T-X is due out in 2023.

In addition to the SUV on this platform, Chery plans to produce pickup trucks and some luxury SUVs up to 5.1 m long.

Chery launched the Jetour sub-brand in 2018, under which they produce a range of youth-oriented crossovers that are currently sold only in China.

At the end of 2021, Chery Automobile sold 961,900 vehicles worldwide (+31.7% compared to 2020). 269,200 vehicles were shipped outside the PRC (+136.3%). Of the total number of cars sold, 154,100 carry the Jetour brand.
