Chery Automobile for the first time "live" demonstrated the promising crossover Jetour Traveler, but this is not a full-fledged premiere, but a "preview" held at the tourism business conference in Guiyang (southern China). The car is already ready for mass production, it only reproduces the 2022 T-1 concept car in general terms.

The main feature of Jetour Traveler is an expressive angular exterior in the style of classic SUVs. The novelty has a pronounced two-volume body shape with a horizontal hood and roof. The glazing line is made visually solid around the entire perimeter - for this, the body pillars are painted with black glossy enamel. Short overhangs and voluminous stampings above the wheel arches, as well as large wheels, high ground clearance, a single horizontal radiator grille and headlights attract attention.

Chery notes that the Traveler's look was developed under the guidance of 57-year-old Hakan Saracoglu, who previously worked as a designer at German Porsche.

Although the Traveler imitates real SUVs with its appearance, the car is built on a frameless platform with a transverse engine and front-wheel drive. According to the preliminary version, the crossover will be offered in three engine versions - with petrol turbo units of 1.5 liters and 2.0 liters, as well as with a hybrid installation, composed around a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine.

Other details will be revealed in April, when the premiere of the new Jetour will take place at the Shanghai International Auto Show.

Recall that the subsidiary brand Jetour was launched by Chery in 2018, the cars of this brand are positioned as luxury, but at the same time inexpensive.
