Chery Automobile has announced a new electric SUV codenamed S56 – the car will have a brutal angular body, as hinted at by a common photo of the silhouette.
Chery decided to attract its fans to the PR campaign for the release of the upcoming novelty - in China, a creative competition was announced among them to develop the style of the car. At the same time, Chery will also connect suppliers to the joint work, who will tell you whether it is possible or impossible to create certain components. Prizewinners will also receive cash prizes, the largest being 50,000 yuan.
Chery notes that the S56 SUV should receive a design based on a "cold and tough aesthetic." However, many people can already find the similarity of the brutal square silhouette with the Land Rover Defender 110.
The power plant of the model has not yet been disclosed. It is only known that it will be electric and in several power options. In addition, the S56 will receive an advanced Smart Cabin media system, which is an original development of the Chery iCar Ecology division. 20 smart sensors and a semi-autopilot function are also expected.
The appearance of the Chery S56 on teasers resembles the Jetour T-X concept car that debuted in January. However, a hybrid system of a gasoline turbo engine and an electric motor was announced for him.
