The Chinese company Chery Automobile announced the appearance of a flagship electric crossover, which bears the in-house designation eQ7, however, a different name may be chosen for the model together with brand fans. The debut is scheduled for the second half of 2023.
Chery distributed a series of darkened promotional photos of the upcoming new product - you can see the two-tiered front lighting and the absence of a traditional radiator grille (however, an electric car does not need it). The swift profile of the car should appeal to a younger audience. The car will partially echo the exterior of the eQ5 released in 2020.
Chery's subsidiary Chery New Energy is responsible for the production and development of Chery's electric vehicles. At the moment, the lineup includes eco-friendly compacts eQ1, QQ Ice Cream, QQ Wujie Pro and battery crossover eQ5. Also, a small Costin EC1 based on the eQ1 was launched last year with Shandong Qihe County. In the future, Chery intends to separate the QQ family into a separate sub-brand and launch two premium brands - Raoteng and GENE.
