The Chinese BYD Auto plans to release a subcompact electric car (class A according to the European classification) - a photo of a pre-production sample of the upcoming novelty has become freely available. The car was given the name Seagull ("seagull" in English).
Seagull has a one-volume body shape and five doors. The overall length, width and height of the car are 3780, 1715 and 1540 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 2500 mm.
The car has an intricate exterior with complex plastic body panels, where the stampings logically continue one another. The solid line of windows and rear lights looks visually interesting. In the BYD product hierarchy, Chaika will take a position one step below the compact Dolphin model produced since 2021.
BYD Seagull will be equipped with a 55 kW (75 hp) electric motor. Other details will be known later - the world premiere of new items is expected in the spring.
