The BYD Han electric car was shown at the beginning of the year, but only now it went on open sale.

BYD Han is the company's new flagship model. The former chief designer of Alfa Romeo and Audi, Wolfgang Egger, worked on her appearance.

It is noteworthy that Han is called a Tesla Model S competitor. The length of the car is 4950 mm, and its aerodynamic coefficient is 0.23 Cx (Tesla Model S has 4978 mm and 0.24 Cx, respectively).

The electric car will be available in several variants. The “base” includes a front electric motor (222 hp and 330 Nm) and a battery with a capacity of 65 kWh with a power reserve of 506 km according to the NEDC cycle. Also, buyers will be able to choose a version with a 77 kWh battery (up to 605 km).

The most expensive is the all-wheel drive version, which additionally uses a rear motor (272 hp and 350 Nm). The total return reaches 494 hp. and 680 Nm. Battery capacity - 77 kWh. The manufacturer claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds and a range of 550 km.

Buyers will also be able to choose a hybrid modification, in which a 2.0-liter turbo engine (192 hp and 320 Nm) is combined with an electric motor (245 hp and 380 Nm). A battery with a capacity of 15.2 kWh is also provided.

The price of the electric car starts at 229,800 yuan. This is how much you will have to pay for the front-engined version with the “older” battery, that is, the base model will be cheaper (until its price is published). A twin-engine modification costs from 279,500 yuan. The hybrid is slightly more affordable - from 219,800 yuan.

Fun fact: BYD is calling Han the world's first 5G mass-produced car. Compatibility with the advanced data transmission standard is carried out using Huawei equipment. Huawei HiCar technology is integrated into the in-car infotainment system. The DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system with a self-learning function also has Internet access.
