Refined and elegant: GM has published a photo of the new Buick LaCrosse

Buick

In early March, we published news about the expected characteristics of the restyled version of the Buick LaCrosse large sedan. Today, GM released official photos and some specifications of the upcoming new product.

Judging by the pictures, the updated LaCrosse has a new grille, the side edges of which emphasize the extended front optics, a different front bumper with LED strips of navigation lights, and new moldings on the wings. The rear lights have also changed, which have become narrower, and now they are pierced by a chrome trim.

But the interior has hardly been updated: the steering wheel has narrower spokes and the color scheme of the interior has changed. There are no other differences between the restyled LaCrosse and the pre-styling one. Of the important, the Avenir modification has been preserved, in which the car is equipped with a Bose audio system, chrome decor, as well as a complete list of options.

There are also changes under the hood: the Ecotec 2.0-liter turbocharged four lost 21 hp after the upgrade. and now develops 240 hp, and its torque remains the same - 350 Nm. At the moment, it is not known what this is connected with, it is quite possible that the reason lies in environmental standards. It is also expected that the car will soon be equipped with a new 1.3-liter engine with 165 hp, which will replace the 1.5-liter engine.

It is worth noting that this car will not be sold in the US, as General Motors has decided to discontinue production of models that are in low demand. Along with the LaCrosse, the large Cadillac CT6 sedan, the budget Chevrolet Cruze sedan, and the Volt hybrid are due to retire, after which GM's Michigan factory is due to close.

But in China, GM is doing well, and last year the brand sold more than a million cars there, about 70,000 of which were LaCrosse sedans.

In China, the car will continue to be assembled at the SAIC-GM plant in Shanghai.

Prices for the restyled LaCrosse will be published soon.
