Buick brand showed a luxurious minivan and an unmanned capsule in Guangzhou

The Buick GL8 Flagship concept minivan was shown at the Guangzhou International Auto Show. In his image, they will create a fourth-generation GL8 serial model (the third has been produced in China since 2016).

The GL8 Flagship received smooth body lines, a huge panoramic roof, rear-view cameras instead of mirrors and large wheels with low-profile tires. The practicality of the minivan is emphasized by sliding rear doors and a flexibly transformable interior, in which there was even a place for a tea table.

A 30-inch display is installed in front of the driver. The steering wheel has a built-in touch screen, there is also a projection screen. The designers tried to make the space inside as open as possible, this is facilitated by a large glazing area and a completely absent central tunnel.

Engine data and technical specifications of the GL8 Flagship are not given - apparently, this is only a full-size demonstration mock-up.

So far, the Chinese office of General Motors (the American concern owns the Buick brand) does not say anything about the timing of the production version of the new generation GL8.

Together with a minivan in Guangzhou, they presented the concept of an unmanned capsule Buick Smart Pod. Inside there is no driver's seat, but there is a pair of folding seats in the back and a folding sofa in front. Behind it is a moving screen. Environmentally friendly finishing materials are used. There was a place for an air purification system and noise reduction technology.

The prospects for the Buick Smart Pod are not specified.
