The American concern General Motors is preparing to release a compact crossover Buick Encore of a new, second generation. First, this model will be offered in China, and if it gets to North America, it will be later.
If the first generation Encore, produced since 2012, is a slightly refurbished Opel Mokka, then the Encore II is an independent model, but, of course, unit-wise unified with other GM products. Recall that GM sold Opel two years ago to the French concern PSA.
The appearance of the new Enkor was shown this spring at the Shanghai International Motor Show, but now the interior of the novelty has been declassified. The interior is characterized by an architecturally complex front panel and a two-tone black and brown design. The dashboard is traditional analog instruments, not the now fashionable digital display. A tablet display of the multimedia system is installed in the upper part of the center console of the car.
The second-generation Buick Encore will be equipped with 1.0 and 1.3-liter petrol turbo engines. The first develops 116 hp, the second - 158 hp. They will be aggregated with a manual transmission (five or six steps) or a 6-band "automatic" GM6T40. Type of drive at the choice of the consumer - front or full.
The car will be produced by a joint venture between General Motors and the Chinese concern SAIC.
