The X5 M and X6 M have received an update

BMW

BMW introduced updated versions of the X5 M and X6 M soplatform sports SUVs. Recall that these models differ in body type: the first has a five-door station wagon, the second has a five-door coupe.

The nature of the changes in the exterior is the same as the base models (they were updated in early February). Both sports crossovers received a new front and rear design. The emok body kits are completely original - there are an abundance of broken lines in the front bumper, and the radiator grille is visually combined with the air intake (between them is a black-painted segment). In the lattice, instead of the previous vertical slats, there are horizontal ones. Narrowed matrix LED headlights and taillights with different graphics are used. The side mirrors have aerodynamically designed housings. The X5 M and X6 M are equipped with 21-inch wheels at the front and 22-inch wheels at the rear. Exhaust pipes - twin with M logos on the tips.

The powerplants of the X5 M and X6 M are for the first time electrified in a mild hybrid scheme. That is, the 4.4-liter gasoline V8 in certain modes is assisted by a 48-volt starter-alternator, it briefly produces an additional 12 hp. power and 200 Nm of torque. At the same time, the characteristics of the most bi-turbo V8 are the same - 625 hp. and 750 Nm. The starter-alternator is powered by a 48-volt lithium-ion battery, which is recharged, including from the recovery system.

Despite the very large curb weight (2.4 tons), the X5 M and X6 M are characterized by dynamics at the level of supercars - from 0 to 100 km / h, the crossovers accelerate in 3.9 seconds. The maximum speed is limited at the level of 250 km / h, for a surcharge, the bar can be increased to 290 km / h.

The main innovation in the cabin is a curved digital cluster that integrates a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch media system display. By the way, the media system itself is the latest generation, BMW OS 8.

Sales of updated sports crossovers will start in the summer of 2023, in Germany the starting price will be 160,000 euros
