BMW showed at the Concorso D'Eleganza Vlla d'Este 2023 automobile festival taking place in northern Italy a new development - the BMW Touring Coupé shooting brake. Recall that the term “shooting break” refers to three-door sports station wagons.
Created in a single copy, the show car is built on the basis of a serial rear-wheel drive BMW Z4 roadster. The original rear fenders and roof are made of sheet aluminum using prototype technology, the tailgate is made by hand from steel using a wooden blank.
Concerning the roadster, the Touring Coupé also has an original grille design. Decor elements in the exterior are covered with a sophisticated matte silver-bronze paint. The luggage compartment is covered with expensive grades of genuine leather.
On the technical side, the BMW Touring Coupé does not differ from the serial BMW Z4 - it is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 340 hp.
As BMW design director Adrian van Hooydonk told the press, since the public has shown very high interest in the presented sample, the company may consider releasing it in a small batch - for example, 50 copies.
