The range of the current-generation BMW X5 crossover G05, produced since 2018, has been replenished with a new version - with an extended wheelbase. The German concern created it exclusively for the Chinese market, where it will be produced.
The overall length of the BMW X5 Long has been increased by 130 mm to 5052 mm, the entire increase falls on the distance between the axles, that is, the wheelbase has reached 3105 mm. Relative to the standard X5, the new steel body panels are the roof, rear fenders and doors, and sills.
The interior has increased legroom for rear passengers - thus, the X5 Long is suitable for the role of an executive car.
Note that in terms of the wheelbase parameter, the elongated “X-five” repeats the full-size X7, but in terms of overall length it is slightly larger - 5151 mm.
The BMW X5 Long will be offered with 3.0 or 2.0 liter petrol engines with 272 or 370 hp. respectively. Gearbox 8-speed automatic, permanent full drive.
Outside of China, the novelty is not going to be sold.
