Electric BMW i7 will be more powerful than petrol 7-Series

BMW

BMW continues to work on an electric version of the i7 sedan that will compete with the Mercedes EQS and the next generation Jaguar XJ. New technical information has appeared about the Electroseven.

According to Motor1, the executive BMW will receive electric motors with a total output of 650 hp, thanks to which it will become the most powerful in the 7-Series line (now the top petrol BMW M760Li with a 6.6-liter V12 develops 602 hp). The electric motors in the top version will be powered by a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 120 kWh, the power reserve of the sedan will be 700 kilometers. More affordable modifications will receive 536-horsepower electric motors and a battery with a capacity of 80 kWh.

The next-generation 7-Series family is built on the flexible, modular CLAR platform, optimized from the ground up for all major powertrain types – gasoline, diesel, hybrid and pure electric. Based on CLAR, one promising electric car has already been created - the BMW iX3 presented in 2020.

The premiere of the electric "seven" will take place in 2022.
