BMW introduced the most powerful and fastest "five" in history

BMW

BMW introduced a special version of the M5 sports sedan - it is designated by the code CS. This is the most powerful and fastest serial "four-door" in the history of the brand.

Compared to the M5 Competition, the 4.4-liter V8 S63 of the M5 CS has added 10 hp, so it now produces 635 hp. The 8-speed "automatic" and all-wheel drive with the possibility of deactivating the front axle remained in place. However, even with these minor improvements, the acceleration time was reduced from 3.3 to 3 seconds. Top speed is still limited to 305 km/h.

To save weight, carbon fiber is generously used: it is used for the roof (standard on all M5), hood with vents, front splitter, mirror housings, rear diffuser and spoiler. Under the hood is a carbon fiber engine cover. Plus, the manufacturer threw out part of the soundproofing to further reduce weight. Thanks to all the tricks, we managed to save 70 kg compared to the M5 Competition.

The chassis has also been redesigned. Engineers installed stiffer springs, retuned the dampers and lowered the ride height by 5mm. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires used are 275/35 R20 front and 285/35 R20 rear.

Visual highlights include Brands Hatch Grey, yellow L-shaped running lights and a Gold Bronze front grille.

In Europe, the BMW M5 CS costs €199 900
