Volkswagen continues its advertising campaign to promote the promising second-generation Amarok pickup truck - this time the automaker has distributed a video. In it, using computer animation, the crystals turn into Amarok headlights - adaptive, LED. Thus, the company demonstrates the graphic design of head lighting.

In the most expensive trim levels, the new Amarok will be equipped with the IQ Light system, which adjusts the intensity and spot of the headlight beam to the current situation on the road - other road users and street lighting are taken into account. In addition, they effectively illuminate corners. Matrix elements generate a luminous flux of 900 lumens, which is about twice as much as standard headlights.

Volkswagen has previously shown design sketches and photographs of camouflaged next-generation Amarok prototypes.

Recall that Amarok II is being created as part of Volkswagen’s cooperation with Ford Motor, therefore it relies on the platform of the mid-size Ford Ranger T6 and will be unified with it in terms of frame, chassis, internal and some external cab panels, suspensions and units. The body plumage of the Volkswagen is completely original - with its own block headlights and a radiator grille.

The overall length, width and height of the next Amarok are 5350, 1910 and 1880 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 3220 mm. Thus, relative to the car of the first generation, it is 96 mm longer, 34 mm narrower and 2 mm higher, the wheelbase of the car of the second generation is 125 mm longer than that of the first. The load capacity of the upcoming novelty is 1200 kg, the maximum weight of the towed trailer is 3500 kg.

Amarok II will be produced not only with a two-row four-door cab, but also with a single two-door.

For consumers on the European continent, three drive options will be offered - rear, plug-in all-wheel drive or permanent all-wheel drive.

The most expensive versions will receive up to 30 driver assistance functions, matrix LED headlights, and a high-quality Harman Kardon audio system. The media complex with a screen diagonal of 10.1 to 12 inches will work on the Ford SYNC4 system. The instrument panel is only digital, with a dimension of 8 inches.

Production of the model will start at the end of 2022 at the plant in Pretoria, South Africa. Moreover, Amarok of the first generation is also planned to be produced - until demand is exhausted.

Recall that the first Amarok is made in Pacheco, Argentina, it is still popular in South America and Africa.
