Volkswagen has distributed a promo photo of the promising electric SUV of the newly formed Scout brand. The car was captured from the front - however, the picture is deliberately darkened, and only the outline of the car is visible in the foreshortening strictly from the front. Recall that in May, VW showed design sketches of an SUV and Scout pickup truck — they will have brutal proportions and a massive nose.
Scout Motors is fully owned by VW, the company already has an official website.
The Scout SUV and pickup truck will be based on a completely new platform that provides for the use of only an electric propulsion system. Cars of this brand will be produced in the USA, respectively, North America will become the target market for them.
The presentation of the Scout prototypes from Volkswagen will take place in 2023. The appearance of the cars will reflect the image of the historical International Harvester Scout all-terrain vehicles of the 60-80s.
The former International Harvester company is now called Navistar and is part of Volkswagen, as a result, the Scout brand is owned by the Germans. It is appropriate to recall that the Scout prefix also denoted the versions of the Skoda Fabia (in the second generation) and Skoda Octavia (in the second and third) prepared for light off-road use. Skoda Auto is also part of the VW Group.
