For the classic Land Cruiser 70, the queue of buyers stretched for 2.5 years

Toyota

Toyota Motor cannot cope with the demand for the classic frame SUV Land Cruiser 70 - the queue for this car produced since 1984 stretched for two and a half years - until the end of 2024. True, we are talking about the right-hand drive version of the car and the Australian market, which, however, is the largest for this model.

Edition The Drive writes that "seventies" today - the scarcest new car in Australia, for other and more modern cars, the queue varies from 3 to 14 months.

On the one hand, there is a steady high demand for the Land Cruiser 70, on the other hand, due to a disruption in the supply of electronic components, the production of even such a condo in terms of model design has suffered.

Toyota says it hopes to fulfill customer orders for the classic SUV as quickly as possible.

The range of Land Cruiser 70 body modifications currently includes a five-door SUV, trucks with one- and two-row cabs, as well as a three-door glazed van (Troop Carrier).

The line of engines consists of a petrol 4.0-liter V6 1GR-FE (power - 228 hp, torque - 370 Nm) and a turbodiesel 4.5 V8 model 1VD-FTV (205 hp, 450 Nm). The choice of engines depends on the market - for example, in Australia they sell only the diesel version.

Both motors are combined with a 5-speed manual transmission and part-time all-wheel drive (the front axle is forcibly connected). The transfer case has a reduction gear and a differential lock.

At the end of 2022, the Land Cruiser 70 will undergo another update - due to the tightening of certification requirements, cars for Australia will already have inflatable curtains and knee airbags, optimized front seats and a hood that is safe for pedestrians as standard.

Toyota Land Cruiser 70 is sold not only on the Green Continent, the model is officially delivered to the countries of the Middle East and Africa. The old Kruzak is produced with both right and left-hand drive and controls.
