The new Skoda Fabia is being tested in the Czech Republic already in a serial body

Skoda Auto is preparing to launch the fourth generation Fabia. Test cars have almost completely lost their disguise, which allows you to get a first idea of the exterior of the novelty.

Judging by the pictures, the car will receive a wider track compared to the model of the outgoing sample. Given the massive front grille and narrower headlights, this will give the compact a more imposing look.

The prototype in red is the Monte Carlo version. It has a splitter on the front bumper, door sills and an original rear diffuser. Production cars will also be equipped with low-profile wheels and sports seats.

In terms of technology, the car will be as close as possible to the Audi A1 Sportback, Seat Ibiza and Volkswagen Polo, which are built on the MQB A0. So now the Czech compact is no longer a poor relative in the family (the third Fabia uses the PQ26 platform, which turned out to be a modernization of the old PQ25 with elements from MQB).

The main engine in the model line will be a three-cylinder petrol 1.0 TSI, available in several boost versions (presumably from 80 to 115 hp). The cheapest versions will use a 1.0-liter naturally aspirated engine. But the top modification RS will not return: it is not available in the current generation either.

The exact timing of the debut of the new Fabia has not yet been published. It was previously assumed that the hatch will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show.
