Skoda introduced the new generation Octavia RS in March. But then it was only about the hybrid version of the RS iV with charging from the outlet. Now the RS family has been replenished with more traditional modifications.
The most conservative variant is with a 2.0 TSI petrol turbo engine with a power of 245 hp. It is combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" or a 7-speed "robot". Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 6.8 or 6.7 seconds, top speed - 250 km / h.
The diesel version with a 2.0 TDI engine has a power of 200 hp. This Octavia RS will only be produced with a "robot". At the same time, buyers will be able to choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 7.4 or 6.8 seconds (4WD is faster), top speeds are 243 and 249 km/h respectively.
All Octavias with the RS nameplate are equipped with a sports suspension with an understatement of 15 mm relative to the “civilian” car and a steering mechanism with a variable gear ratio. An adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control suspension is available as an option.
Other distinguishing features of the Octavia RS include a more aggressive front end design with a different bumper, unique LED fog lights, black exterior accents, and branded 18- and 19-inch wheels. The cabin is equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a media system with an enlarged display and a standard central airbag (a first for Skoda).
Production of the Skoda Octavia RS will begin in September. Once the sports version was in good demand in Russia, but its popularity faded with the crisis, and in 2018 the Czech company stopped bringing it at all.
