Electrocross Skoda Enyaq iV failed miserably "moose test"

Skoda

The journalists of the Spanish edition km77 tested the handling of the first Skoda electric crossover, called the Enyaq iV, for the ability to overcome the so-called “elk test”. In this test, a high-speed maneuver is simulated to avoid a collision with some obstacle that suddenly appeared on the road. The result was disappointing: the Czech car "steers" badly.

The fuel-free SUV failed to pass the test at a reference speed of 77 km/h, but managed it only at 67 km/h. During one of the attempts, the car almost turned around at all, and the driver had to demonstrate his skills in getting it out of a skid. Thus, the Enyaq iV performed worse than the Dacia Spring (77 km/h), Tesla Model Y (75 km/h), Hyundai Kona Electric (74 km/h) and Mazda MX-30 (74 km/h) electrocrosses. .

It is worth noting that the test Enyaq iV in modification 60 is equipped with a 179-horsepower electric motor and a battery with a capacity of 58 kWh, the curb weight of the car is 1950 kg, which is moderate for an electric car. With a high degree of probability, the heavier all-wheel drive versions will perform even worse in this test. In defense of the electrocross, we can say that it was shod with Bridgestone Turanza Eco tires with a dimension of 235/50 R20 at the front and 255/45 R20 at the rear, and the “oak” tires of this Japanese company had previously let down not only the current Toyota RAV4 crossover in a similar test, but also light hatchback Volkswagen Golf.
