Mitsubishi will present three concepts at once in Tokyo

Mitsubishi is going to present three concept cars at the Tokyo Motor Show, which opens in late October. The company released a detailed announcement of its exposition.

The Japanese revealed more details about the mysterious concept, the first teaser of which was published in September. It will be named Mi-Tech Concept.

As expected, this is an open-top crossover. It also has no doors. The strange fan-like installation is indeed installed in fairings mounted behind the seats. The purpose of these elements has not yet been disclosed.

Mitsubishi Mi-Tech uses a new generation hybrid powertrain. It will be more compact than the one used on the brand's current hybrids, including the Outlander PHEV. The car is driven by four electric motors, one for each wheel.

Another concept was named Mitsubishi Super Height K-Wagon. Judging by the format and name, one could assume that we are talking about a new generation of Mitsubishi eK Wagon. The only catch is that the latest version of the car was introduced in March 2019. In this case, it may be a new model on the same platform.

Among the features of the Mitsubishi Super Height K-Wagon is the Mi-Pilot autopilot, which can control the car on the track.

The Japanese company also announced the arrival of the Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer concept SUV at the motor show, but we have seen it before: in March at the Geneva Motor Show. The concept car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid power plant. It consists of a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery with the ability to recharge from an external network. On pure electric traction, the crossover can travel up to 70 km, and the total range (full tank + charged battery) is more than 700 km.

Engelberg Tourer is the prototype of the next generation Mitsubishi Outlander. The crossover will be released in 2020. Recently, the first camouflaged prototypes of the novelty were seen, which very closely correspond to the appearance of the Mitsubishi Outlander.
