Mitsubishi Motors has collected about four thousand pre-orders for the Delica Mini kei car in the domestic Japanese market. This model debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show in mid-January and was available for pre-order on January 13th. Thus, the debut of the Mitsubishi Delica Mini can be considered successful; in Japan, this model costs from 1.8 million yen.
Delica Mini is based on the 2020 eK Space model, but differs from it in the design of the front and rear parts of the body. At the front, the aggressive headlights with semi-circular graphics of the LED daytime running lights attract attention. In the front bumper, you can see a silver imitation underbody protection and gray painted L-shaped segments in the corners. When viewed in profile, the car is distanced from its “donor” by wheel arch linings and imitation moldings at the bottom of the doors. The dark gray light-alloy wheels with double spokes also look interesting, the wheel dimension is 165/60 R15.
The Delica Mini comes standard with a Grip Control system that makes it easier to start off on slippery surfaces. Through the braking of a slipping wheel, it imitates an interwheel differential lock. Also, the key car in the base is equipped with help when descending a mountain - it automatically maintains a low speed of the car when descending steep slopes and slippery roads.
In terms of technology, Delica Mini does not differ from the standard eK Space, that is, it has a 660 cc gasoline engine with 52 hp. (atmospheric) or 64 hp During acceleration, the internal combustion engine is assisted by a starter-generator, that is, a “mild hybrid” type system is used. The transmission uses a continuously variable variator, the drive is front or full.
