The car factory, which produced Mitsubishi Pajero SUVs until 2021, was sold to toilet paper manufacturer Daio Paper. From the implementation of Pajero Manufacturing Co. in Gifu, Japan, Mitsubishi Motors (MMC) raised $34 million, a penny by the standards of a large industrial business. Of course, before the sale, MMC dismantled all the equipment and conveyor lines - the bare premises were sold to the paper manufacturer.
Daio Paper announced that it will use the acquired cases to increase the production of toilet paper, which for some reason is especially in demand during the coronavirus pandemic and fears of a third world war.
