The Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer concept SUV was presented in Geneva. Unusual for a Japanese car, the name "Engelberg" is taken from the toponymy of Switzerland - this is the name of a popular ski resort in the center of the country.
Engelberg Tourer is a prototype of the future serial mid-size crossover that will replace the Outlander. The concept car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid power plant. It consists of a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery with the ability to recharge from an external network. On pure electric traction, the crossover can travel up to 70 km, and the total range (full tank + charged battery) is more than 700 km.
On the exterior of the car, the X-shaped grille and double-decker headlights attract attention. Salon surprises with white leather trim with diamond-shaped stitching.
Together with Engelberg Tourer, MMC introduced the Dendo Drive House (DDH) system, an energy storage device with solar panels that allows you to use the energy of the heavenly body at the same time for home needs and recharging an electric car / hybrid. The characteristics of DDH are not disclosed, but we note that the efficiency of solar cells is usually not very high, that is, DDH will not allow you to save a lot of money on free electricity.
