In Japan, from December 4, they sell an updated version of the compact crossover Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.
Recall that the restyled car was shown back in October. Outside, it differs from the previous car in a redesigned front and rear parts: the lines have become more aggressive, the lighting technology is completely on LED elements. But the main thing is that with the modernization, the range of modifications of the model is supplemented by a rechargeable hybrid, which is indicated by the abbreviation PHEV in the title.
The Eclipse Cross PHEV hybrid system is similar to that used on the larger Outlander PHEV: it consists of a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated 4B12 petrol (128 hp), two electric motors (one per axle, that is, all-wheel drive) and a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. Such a machine has very low fuel consumption (6 l / 100 km) and is capable of driving up to 57 km on pure electric traction. Another fun feature is that, if necessary, the PHEV can be used as a gas generator to feed the household with electricity.
The regular gasoline version of the model in Japan also continues to be sold - it is equipped with a 1.5-liter 4B40 engine with 154 hp, a continuously variable variator, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Eclipse Cross is offered to the Japanese in three fixed configurations, denoted by the letters M, G and P. The basic package already includes an extensive package of preventive security systems. G is equipped with a head-up display, adaptive cruise control and faux suede trim. The P has a premium audio system.
In the interior with modernization, a media system display with an increased diagonal of eight inches is used. At the same time, the touchpad for controlling functions is a thing of the past.
Prices for the plug-in hybrid are in the range of 3,848,900-4,477,000 yen.
Regular gasoline Eclipse Cross starts at 2,531,000 yen
