Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors have found a design defect affecting passive safety in the new generation Roox, eK Space and eK Cross Space kei cars. Recall that these machines were created as part of the NMKV joint venture, rely on a single platform and are manufactured at the same plant.
During the control crash tests of randomly selected serial copies, it turned out that the airbags do not fully deploy under certain conditions, which threatens with an increased risk of injury in an accident.
Production of Roox, eK Space and eK Cross Space has been suspended since December 24, Nissan and MMC intend to correct the defect as soon as possible. For copies that have already been released, they will probably announce a recall campaign.
