BMW, which owns the MINI brand, has announced the date of the official presentation of the new generation of the legendary hatchback model of the same name: the car show is scheduled for November 18 this year.
The date was not chosen by chance: this day will be the 107th birthday of Sir Alec Issigonis, the creator of the very first Mini. The premiere of the novelty will simultaneously take place in London and at the company's British plant in Oxford. Then during the week the car will be shown at the Los Angeles and Tokyo auto shows. At the same time, the English bulldog Spike, whose image already adorns various Mini accessories, will again advertise the car.
So far, there are no details about the new product. However, individual parts of the hatchback shown in the photographs can be easily identified by separate uncovered details of the hatchback, which was caught by photo spies during road tests back in early July. But with the concept of Mini Vision in common, apparently, there will be less. At the very least, there will be no interesting design strokes around the wheel arches with entry to the front roof pillars that adorned the concept on a production car.
The new MINI will go on sale in the first quarter of 2014.
