Mercedes-Benz has celebrated the release of the 500,000th copy of the legendary G-Class SUV. This milestone was reached in 44 years of production of the model (it was released in 1979).
The anniversary was a copy of the modern consumer range W463-II, which has been produced since 2018 and has nothing to do with the original G-Class. However, the 500,000th car was maximally stylized as a classic G-Class - it received a khaki-colored body, a black radiator grille, headlight glasses and a body kit, a fabric spare wheel cover, orange direction indicators and 5-beam wheels.
In the cabin, features include fabric seat upholstery with a checkered pattern and No. 500,000 on the passenger door handrail.
It is alleged that in appearance the car became similar to the 280 GE of the 1986 model.
