Executive S-Class hit by global recall

Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall of over 23,500 vehicles worldwide due to software issues. Tagesspiegel writes about this with reference to a statement by the German Federal Motor Transport Administration.

The recall applies to the 2020 and 2021 S-Class executive sedans. In Germany, which is native to the brand, it will affect only about a thousand cars.

The recalled vehicles need a software update. Outdated settings can lead to a malfunction of the ESP and ABS motion stabilization system, which prevents the wheels from locking when braking. The software update will take about half an hour at the service center, the company said.
