Mercedes-Benz has upgraded the GLE family of mid-size crossovers, with both the original family GLE-Class and the youth coupe-crossover GLE Coupe upd ated.
For both models, the exterior was refreshed with little blood, that is, without affecting the steel stamped elements. The front bumpers of the GLE and GLE Coupe are now more complex in shape, the graphics of the block headlights (dotted lines appeared in the daytime running lights) and the configuration of the radiator grille have changed. In the grille of the basic versions of the models, a chrome-plated horizontal bar is slotted, and a pattern of many shiny three-beam “stars” is used in the grid. At the rear of both models, the taillight graphics and lower end design in the bumpers are different.
Now the entire line of Mercedes-Benz GLE is electrified - a "mild hybrid" or "hybrid with the possibility of recharging from an external network" is offered.
Inside, there is a newly designed steering wheel with touch buttons for secondary functions on the spokes and the latest generation of the MBUX media system: the voice assistant has been improved and the ability to control smart home functions from the car has been added.

GLE 450, 3.0 liter petrol engine, power - 381 hp (+14 hp relative to the previous model), additional 20 hp. during acceleration, it produces a starter-generator;
GLE 300d, 2.0L diesel engine, 269 hp (+28 HP), +20 HP starter-generator;
GLE 450d, 3.0L diesel engine, 367 HP, +20 HP starter generator. Replacement for the GLE 400d variant;
GLE 400e, plug-in hybrid, 2.0-liter petrol engine (252 hp) + electric motor (136 hp), total output 381 hp Replacement for the GLE 350e variant;
GLE 350de, plug-in hybrid, 3.0L turbo diesel (197 hp) + electric motor (136 hp), total output - 333 hp (+8 hp).
If we talk about the North American market, then the GLE 350 petrol version (255 hp + 20 hp starter-generator) was left as the base for it, and the GLE 580 (510 hp + 21 hp) was the top one. .
All versions are equipped with a 9-speed "automatic" 9G-Tronic and all-wheel drive 4Matic. Rechargeable hybrids are equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 23.3 kWh, there is a pure electric driving mode (the power reserve is not specified).
The sports modifications of the AMG GLE 53 and AMG GLE 63S were also affected by the upgrade. They received a body kit of a new, even more expressive design. The 3.0-liter AMG GLE 53 petrol engine still produces 429 hp, but the torque has been increased from 520 to 560 Nm. In the GLE 63S AMG variant, the output of the 4.0-liter bi-turbo engine is the same - 603 hp. and 850 Nm.
In the West, sales of the updated Mercedes-Benz GLE will start in mid-2023.
Recall that the current generation Mercedes-Benz GLE W167 has been produced since 2018, the GLE Coupe C167 - since 2019.
