McLaren unveils 675LT sports car

McLaren has released official details about the new 675LT supercar shortly before the car's world premiere in Geneva.

The novelty is a lighter and more powerful version of the production 650S model, focused on driving on the track. Thanks to the extensive use of carbon fiber, the weight of the new car is 1230 kg - 100 kg lighter than the 650S.

The body of the 675LT generates 40% more downforce than its predecessor. The size of the retractable rear wing, which also acts as an air brake, has grown by 50%, but the part itself has become lighter.

The 3.8-liter V8 engine with two turbochargers now develops 675 hp. power and 700 Nm of thrust, which is 25 hp. and 22 Nm more than the unit from the 650S. Representatives of the company claim that during the refinement, more than half of the motor components were replaced with more optimal ones, as a result of which the engine was assigned a different code. Improvements have affected, in particular, turbochargers, cylinder heads, exhaust manifolds, camshafts and fuel pump.

Reduced weight and increased power have improved the dynamics of the sports car - McLaren 675LT is able to accelerate to the first "hundred" in 2.9 seconds (650S for this achievement will take 3 seconds). From standstill to 200 km/h, the new sports car can accelerate in 7.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 330 km/h.

The 1,000-horsepower McLaren P1 GTR track supercar will also debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
