At the Gooding & Company classic car auction in Pebble Beach (California, USA), the McLaren F1 supercar was sold for $ 20,465,000. This is a record selling price among cars in the world since the beginning of 2021.

McLaren F1 was produced from 1993 to 1998. In total, only 106 examples were built. This model was the first road car with a carbon monocoque carrier. The F1 design also featured titanium, gold, magnesium, and Kevlar parts. The car was equipped with a 6.1-liter V12 from BMW, which developed 627 hp. and 650 Nm. Thanks to the extensive use of aerospace technology and stylish design, the McLaren F1 became a legend "in its lifetime", and today it has the highest collector's value.

In 1998, the F1 entered the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest car in the world. His figure was surpassed only in 2005.

The brainchild of the famous engineer Gordon Murray was conceived as the ideal sports car for public roads.

But the specific instance sold has hardly ever been on the tracks or on the streets: the 1995 McLaren F1 has less than 200 miles on it. The supercar spent most of its existence in a private Japanese collection. He is still wearing the original factory Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.

The already rare car stands out with a unique body color Creighton Brown, invented individually for the buyer. In addition to the supercar, the new owner received a TAG Heuer 6000 Chronometer watch and a set of tool boxes from the French company FACOM, among which there is a set of titanium wrenches with gilding.

According to experts, the price of such a well-preserved McLaren F1 should have exceeded $ 15 million at the auction. But the last hammer blow came at a significantly larger amount - $ 20,465,000.
