The British company McLaren has developed its first mass-produced hybrid supercar - Artura. Yes, P1 was a hybrid back in 2012, but it was assembled in a limited edition (375 copies), for each of which they asked for more than $1 million. so much will be collected.

The Artura is a mid-engined supercar built on the new McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). The car weighs 1498 kg, of which 130 kg are the battery (88 kg) and the electric motor (15.4 kg). According to the manufacturer, in terms of mass, the novelty is comparable to competitors without a hybrid filling.

The heart of the coupe is the new M630 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6. It develops 585 hp. and 585 Nm. This ICE weighs 160 kg - 50 kg lighter than McLaren's V8. In addition, due to the rejection of two cylinders, it was possible to reduce the length. The engine block, heads and pistons are made of aluminium. Thanks to the large camber angle (120 degrees), it was possible to lower the center of gravity.

An 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission houses an electric motor that adds 95 hp. and 225 Nm. In comparison with the same McLaren P1, it was possible to increase the specific (per kg) return by 33%. In total, 680 hp is obtained. and 804 Nm.

A curious detail: the "robot" does not provide reverse gear. This was done in order to reduce weight and dimensions. But the machine can still move backward: to do this, it simply rotates the electric motor in the opposite direction.

The 7.4 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a range of up to 30 km in all-electric mode. The battery is liquid cooled.

McLaren Artura is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in exactly 3 seconds. Top speed is limited to 330 km/h.

The British supercar is shod with Pirelli P-Zero tires measuring 235/35Z R19 at the front and 295/35 R20 at the rear. 391mm carbon-ceramic front brake discs and 381mm rear brakes are used.

In the US, Artura costs from $225,000. Dealers of the brand are already taking orders, the first deliveries are scheduled for the third quarter of 2021.
