Mazda Motor has unveiled a restyled version of the Japanese version of the Mazda2 subcompact hatchback. The model of the DJ / DL generation has been released since 2014, this is the second update in its biography, the previous one was in 2019.
Outside, they changed the design of the front and rear parts of the body, and achieved this with little money - they replaced the bumpers, the radiator grille, and also the block headlights. The headlights have become slightly larger in area, their inner edges are “blunted”, an elegant pattern of LED daytime running lights has been applied. In the radiator grille, the chrome frame was made less massive, a horizontal bar appeared in the color of the body, in addition, the design of the plug at the bottom of the grille now depends on the configuration. In the stern, the plastic bumper is made more expressive.
In addition to the standard version of the hatchback, special versions are offered, each of which is endowed with its own style features. They are called 15 BD / XD BD, 15 Sport / XD Sport+, Sunlight Citrus, Rookie Drive and Clap Pop.
15 DB and XD DB are for street style fans. In this version, the hatchback has a plug in the grille to match the body color and ample opportunities for customizing the exterior. So, for wheel caps they offer six color options for the spokes, for the roof - three shades of vinyl film. You can also make the side mirror housings contrasting and choose one of three exterior solutions (white, black or blue). The body color palette includes 11 offers. In total, there are 198 different color combinations in the catalog for 15 DB and XD DB.
15 Sport and XD Sport+ for sports style lovers. In such variants, the Mazda2 is equipped with the original front bumper and grille. In the bumper there is a U-shaped slot of the air intake, in the grille there is a black mesh and a black glossy frame. The side mirror housings are also black. Used exclusive 16-inch black alloy wheels with six milled spokes. The original front seats are used with more pronounced lateral support, bright red stitching and non-slip upholstery, as well as numerous red accents in the front panel and door cards.
15 Sunlight Citrus is designed for luxury fans, this version has an elegant exterior design - body-colored grille cap + black surrounds, multi-spoke silver alloy wheels. Also standard equipment Mazda2 15 Sunlight Citrus includes electric front seat adjustment, steering wheel heating, adaptive cruise control, lane control.
Rookie Drive and Clap Pop are aimed at lovers of extravagant style. In Rookie Drive, the exterior is diluted with cheerful bright orange accents, the wheel spokes, mirror housings, rear spoiler, disc spokes, decals on the sidewalls and the front bumper are covered with this color. Clap Pop means contrasting coloring of the mirror housings, the roof and the plugs in the grille.
There are no changes in terms of technology. Mazda2 in Japan is offered with petrol or diesel engines of 1.5 liters. The gasoline unit develops a power of 110 hp. in the standard version and 116 hp. - in the 15MB modification. The 110-horsepower version is combined with a 6-speed “mechanics” or “automatic”, the drive is front or full. 116-horsepower - only with manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The diesel unit produces 105 hp, it is compatible with a manual or automatic transmission, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
