In the video presentation of the electrification plan for the Mazda product line on November 22, a promising sports coupe model flashed with an unusual design - minimalist body shapes, deep wheel arches and an elongated hood.
The car was shown in the form of a three-dimensional computer model of the body, the coupe is conditionally signed as Vision Study Model, that is, in a free translation "Search Model". References to the iconic RX-7 rotary coupe can be seen in the large panoramic rear window, the contours of the door openings, and the configuration of the headlights and lamps.
The Vision Study Model has classic proportions - a long hood, a cabin shifted back, a short front overhang.
In terms of dimensions, the car, apparently, is comparable to the serial rear-wheel drive coupe MX-5 of the current generation ND.
As recalled by the English-language edition of Motor1, Mazda previously said that they did not plan to transfer the MX-5 to purely electric power plants, since a heavy traction battery would kill the model's positioning as a lightweight sports car.
