The Spanish publication km77.com continues to arrange “elk tests” for new cars - they imitate the driver’s attempt to avoid a collision with a wild animal through sharp maneuvering. The new Mazda MX-30 crossover took part in the next test, the sales of which in Europe started in August, and in Japan in October. What is interesting: for the test, they took a car in a modification with a purely electric power plant. In general, the car proved to be very worthy, ahead of many well-known models in taxiing, but it failed to successfully cope with the test at a reference speed of 77 km / h.

The electric crossover was able to pass the obstacle course at a speed of 74 km / h, and he almost managed to do it at 75 km / h, if not for one cone staggering due to a small skid. Exactly the same result, for example, in electric competitors represented by Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia e-Niro, Renault Captur successfully maneuvers at 75 km/h, Kia XCeed at 76 km/h. Tesla Model 3, by the way, copes with this test at a speed of 83 km / h. But also do not forget about the outsiders: the new Volkswagen Golf was only able to pass the test at 69 km/h, the Mercedes-Benz CLA at 66 km/h, the BMW M235i at 68 km/h.

The Mazda MX-30 shows insufficient front wheel grip for this test. This leads to the fact that the car knocks down the cones, although it should be noted that the CX-30 gasoline crossover has identical habits.

The MX-30 is driven by a single electric motor with a return of 143 hp. and 265 Nm. The on-board system operates at a voltage of 335 V. The capacity of the traction battery is 35.5 kWh, the range is only 200 km according to the outdated WLTP cycle. The cost of the car in Germany is 32,645 euros.
