Mazda revealed new details about the large crossover CX-90

Mazda

Mazda Motor continues to "warm up" the public about the imminent premiere of the full-size crossover CX-90 (it is scheduled for January 31). On the evening of January 19, the Japanese company distributed a promotional video in which you can catch a glimpse of a promising model in motion.

In the video, Mazda Senior Designer Yasutake Tsuhida and Director of Powertrain Division Jay Chen talk about some of the features of the promising model. According to Chen, the engineers fundamentally endowed the CX-90 with a longitudinally mounted inline-six engine and primary rear-wheel drive: a classic layout ideal for a car with sports handling. At the same time, the engine and transmission units were made as compact as possible - this solution made it possible, among other things, to increase the angle of rotation of the front wheels. The CX-90 will be equipped with the KPC system, which forcibly brakes the inner rear wheel during cornering and thus improves the car's handling at high speeds.

Earlier it was reported that the CX-90 will become the largest Mazda crossover in history, will receive a three-row interior and a 3.3-liter gasoline engine with 340 hp. To assist him in certain modes will be a starter-generator (a “mild hybrid” type system).
