The Mazda CX-8 mid-size crossover produced since 2017 has been upgraded. The manufacturer has submitted an updated version of this car to specifications for the Japanese domestic market.
The exterior has been refreshed with redesigned front and rear body parts. The front bumper has lost the horizontal crease at the bottom, the headlights have become a different configuration and no longer have chrome piping. A bold chrome edging appeared in the radiator grill from below. The taillights retained their shape but received completely new graphics, and the chrome molding moved to their upper part.
The package of the updated crossover includes the Mazda Intelligent Drive Sel ect system with three different preset driving modes. Normal - for everyday use, Sport - for lovers of active driving (the automatic gearbox shifts gears faster in it), off-road - for off-road driving.
It is noted that with the modernization of the Mazda CX-8 received springs and shock absorbers with new settings - they reduce the shaking of passengers on roads with bumps and waves, reduce fatigue and motion sickness. New seat cushions and front seat springs serve the same purpose.
In a car with a 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G 2.5T gasoline engine, the accelerator pedal has been reconfigured - the force on it has been increased. Mazda says this allows for more precise torque control at low speeds.
The high beam in the new headlights automatically adjusts to the current road conditions, the number of LED elements used in it is adjustable in the range fr om 12 to 20, thus achieving the most efficient illumination of the road.
Adaptive cruise control now maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, even if the driver of the CX-8 suddenly stepped on the gas. This prevents a head-on collision.
A USB Type-C connector has been added to the media system.
The range of models includes new trim levels Grand Journey and Sports Appearance.
Grand Journey is addressed to lovers of nature outings with the whole family. This version can be recognized from the outside by the original R19 rims, dark gray grille, glossy black side mirrors, roof rails. Inside, the seats are trimmed with a combination of fabric and synthetic leather, decorative inserts in the front panel with a honeycomb texture. In addition, the Grand Journey functionality is wired as standard for off-road driving.
In Sports Appearance, the grille, lower bumpers, treadplates and side mirrors are finished in high-gloss black. The wheels here are also 19-inch, but the colors are black metallic. An exhaust pipe with an increased diameter is used. Inside, the seats are trimmed in maroon leather. In the front panel - chrome-plated decorative inserts.
Improved Exclusive Mode package. It has a bronze-colored radiator grille, and wheel arch extensions, side mirrors and moldings are made in the same shade with the rest of the body. It uses 19-inch wheels of its own design, roof rails, an exhaust pipe that is enlarged in diameter. Inside, there are nappa leather seats and silver inserts in the front panel.
Recall that the overall length of the Mazda CX-8 is 4.9 m. The car has a three-row seven-seat interior layout.
