Americans recognized Mazda crossover as the most disappointing car

Mazda

The authoritative American magazine Consumer Reports has compiled a rating of consumer satisfaction with new cars in terms of specific models. Two lists have been published: 1) the most consistent models, 2) the most disappointing. This ranking is linked to the recent 2020 Annual Autos Survey, which ranks satisfaction by brand.

The research methodology of Consumer Reports involves a survey of owners on the main points of evaluating a car, that is, it is the subjective opinion of motorists that is taken into account, and not objective, measurable criteria.

The rating was compiled taking into account a survey of owners of cars produced from one to three years ago. They were asked to evaluate the car in terms of comfort, electronics, driving experience and so on.

The least satisfied consumer in the United States is the Mazda CX-3 compact crossover. At the same time, there are many other Japanese models in the top of outsiders.

Mazda CX-3 upset the owners with a low level of comfort. At the same time, motorists highly appreciated her habits on the road and style. She also deserved praise for the combination of price and quality.

Mazda is followed by Nissan Kicks and Infiniti QX60 in the dissatisfaction ranking. In general, the top ten anti-rating looks like this:

Mazda CX-3;
Nissan Kicks;
Infiniti QX60;
Infiniti QX50;
Jeep Compass;
Nissan Pathfinder;
Chevrolet Trax;
Infiniti Q50;
Ford EcoSport;
Toyota C-HR.
Seven out of ten cars are Japanese brands. It is easy to see another pattern: nine cars are crossovers, and mostly compact ones.

By the way, Mazda was able to enter the rating of the most fully meeting the expectations of the car. On the fifth line in it was the roadster MX-5 Miata. And the Tesla Model 3 became the leader. And this is taking into account the huge amount of marriage, poor assembly, color flaws and other little things that the American press constantly writes about and that buyers complain about. From this we can conclude that there is no direct relationship between the quality of the car and the satisfaction of the owner.

Here are the top 10 best cars according to Consumer Reports:

Tesla Model 3;
Kia Telluride;
Tesla Model S
Tesla Model Y;
Mazda MX-5 Miata;
Lincoln Aviator;
Lincoln Corsair;
Toyota Prius;
Jeep Gladiator;
Tesla Model X.
