Mercedes has shown an updated version of the S-Class sedan line with the Maybach designation.
Recall that the new Maybachs appeared in 2014 and became a sub-brand instead of independent models. In fact, we are talking about extremely luxurious versions of the S-Class with some elements unique to Maybach.
Apparently, the management thought about the recognizability of the Maybachs and decided to make them more special against the background of the S-Class. Now Maybach has a new massive grille with vertical stripes, which strongly resembles the previous limousines of the freestanding Maybach brand.
In addition, Maybach vehicles can now be ordered in one of nine two-tone combinations. In addition to this, there is a lacquer coating in several layers and hand polishing. The interior has several options for leather coverings, including stitching with copper, gold or platinum.
The powertrain lineup still includes a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 for the S560 version (463 hp and 700 Nm) and a 6.0-liter supercharged V12 for the S650 modification (621 hp and 1001 Nm). ). It is noteworthy that the difference in acceleration between these versions is small: the first accelerates to “hundreds” in 4.8 seconds, the second in 4.6 seconds.
