Los Angeles 2014. Mercedes introduced the S-Class Maybach

Maybach

Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the new Maybach S-Class limousine at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The company positions Maybach as a sub-brand alongside Mercedes-AMG.

The new Maybach differs from the standard S-Class by a body lengthened to 5453 mm (+200 mm) and rear doors shortened by 66 mm - in this way, the brand's engineers made room for a small third window, which is located next to the rear roof pillars. The company says that thanks to this solution, passengers' heads are outside the doorway, which creates a sense of privacy for them. In addition, the sedan received a number of decorative elements that emphasize its status - a new grille and Maybach lettering.

For the new Maybach, three options for power plants are provided: a six-liter V12 with two turbines (530 hp and 830 Nm) in the S600 version, a 4.7-liter V8 with two superchargers (455 hp and 700 Nm) for modifying the S500 and a three-liter V6 (333 hp and 480 Nm) for the all-wheel drive version of the S500 4Matic.

The main differences between the Maybach and the S-Class can be traced in the interior of the limousine. The manufacturer claims that the novelty is the quietest car in the world.

The rear row of seats consists of two separate seats with a massage function and many of its own settings, allowing passengers to work and relax in comfort. The maximum backrest angle is 43.5 degrees.

The interior of the car is made using expensive materials, and many interior elements are made by hand. In particular, the sedan is equipped with two champagne glasses, heated and cooled cup holders, as well as an air freshener with a specially developed perfume and a sound amplification system that allows rear passengers to easily communicate with the driver. Maybach's equipment list also includes a Burmeister 3D audio system.
