At the end of the month, Maserati will premiere the new generation of the Ghibli. The event will take place at the Shanghai International Auto Show, which will open its doors to the press on April 20.
Ghibli in the third generation will receive 4 doors, so the Ghibli coupes of the first (1967-73) and second (1992-97) generations will not receive a logical continuation. In general, the Ghibli can be considered a more compact and sportier modification of the Quattroporte sedan.
Ghibli will be the first in the history of the brand to receive a diesel engine - we are talking about a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6. This power plant was developed under the direction of Paulo Martinelli, a former chief minder of Ferrari.
The model will also have a petrol version with a 3.0 V6 Turbo. Rear-wheel drive or full (new Q4 system), transmission - automatic 8-speed.
