Mazda has launched a new crossover CX-50

Mazda Motor has begun accepting orders for a brand new model - the mid-size crossover CX-50. The first market where the car became available is the USA. The CX-50 is produced in this country at the company's plant in Huntsville (Alabama), moreover, it is not planned to be offered outside of North America.

As follows from the company's message dated February 22, the CX-50 starts at $28,025 as standard. For comparison, prices for the platform-based but smaller CX-5 crossover in the States start at $27,125.

The CX-50 was introduced in November 2021, the car is based on a common platform with the Mazda3/Mazda6/Mazda CX-5, however, it has a completely original body with a pronounced nose, a large radiator grille and voluminous body panels. The chassis used for the CX-50 has a transverse engine layout.

As standard, the novelty includes a naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G 2.5 engine with a capacity of 190 hp, a six-band automatic and all-wheel drive. Equipment includes an eight-speaker audio system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button engine start, as well as a set of electronic assistants such as blind spot monitoring and marking tracking.

With Skyactiv-G 2.5T turbo engine with 260 hp. for the CX-50 you will have to pay a minimum of $37,625.

The CX-50 is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts, so there is an expanded range of off-road accessories. The Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (or Mi-Drive) drive mode selector allows you to select settings for different types of surfaces. Additionally, a towing mode has been introduced.
