The Italian brand Maserati, part of the Stellantis concern, has published a promotional photo of the promising Grecale crossover. Initially, the company intended to introduce it in the spring of 2021, but due to interruptions in the supply of auto components, it postponed the debut date several times. Now the presentation is scheduled for March 22.

The crossover was named after the gregal - the cold Mediterranean wind. There is a small amount of disguise on the body of the prototype, but the appearance can already be studied in detail. The large grille with the company logo in the form of a trident attracts attention. The side and rear of the Grecale resembles its older brother, the Maserati Levante. There is a similar form of side glazing and a sloping roof line.

The film applied to the prototype is designed to draw attention to the car. There are various inscriptions on it like “Choose one of * driving modes” or “Surprise at my trunk with a volume of *** liters”: according to the idea of the authors of such a PR move, Grecale will travel on the roads of Italy, and classified information will be gradually disclosed.

The new Maserati crossover is based on the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio platform. The car will be available in petrol, diesel, hybrid and all-electric versions. The base will be a 2.0-liter engine, supplemented by a 48-volt starter-generator and a small battery, its power is 330 hp. The top version of the Trofeo will get a 629-horsepower twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6.

Maserati Grecale will compete directly with Porsche Macan, Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3.
