The sixth generation Maserati Quattroporte will be officially presented in early 2013 at the Detroit Auto Show. On the eve of the auto show, the Italian luxury car manufacturer showed several photos of the model and a couple of videos.
The design of the new car was developed under the direction of Lorenzo Ramacciotti at the Centro Stile studio, owned by the Fiat Group. Quattroporte inherited some details of the previous version - grille style, three side air ducts, triangular C-pillar. Of the innovations, the chief designer notes the spectacular belt line of the car and frameless doors.
The power plant in the Quattroporte, according to the manufacturer, is completely new. We are talking about the V8 engine, which was developed jointly with Ferrari and will be produced at the company's plant in Maranello. The company does not name the characteristics of the internal combustion engine, but in the photographs it is impossible not to notice the license plate “QP 530 HP”, which clearly hints at the power of the car. As for the transmission, the 8-speed "automatic" developed by ZF will most likely be used here. Maserati also claims that the architecture of the Quattroporte has been designed with a variety of power trains in mind.
It is worth noting that the debut of the sixth generation Quattroporte is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the model.
