Italian sports car manufacturer Maserati S.p.A. launched a new generation of granturismo coupe and for the first time offered its all-electric Folgore variant.
The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore electric car is equipped with three electric motors with a capacity of 300 kW (408 hp) each. One drives the front wheels, the other two drive the rear wheels independently. At the peak, the motors give the wheels up to 750 hp in total. power and 1350 Nm of torque. The battery pack with a capacity of 92.5 kWh is arranged as close to the center and ground as possible to minimize the effect of inertia when cornering and lower the center of mass. Given that the curb weight of the Maserati electric car is an impressive 2260 kg, the scrupulousness of the engineers when laying out the battery does not seem excessive. From standstill to 100 km / h, the car accelerates in 2.7 seconds, the maximum speed is 320 km / h.
In addition to the electric car, the new Maserati GranTurismo is also offered in the usual ICE version - with a 3.0-liter V6 from the Maserati MC20 central engine coupe, derated with 621 hp. up to 489 (GranTurismo Modena) or 550 hp (Gran Turismo Trofeo). The curb weight of the new Maserati GranTurismo with ICE is 1795 kg.
Production of the machines should start in the second quarter of 2023.
