Italian Ares Design is preparing a "reissue" of the classic Maserati roadster

Maserati

The Italian company Ares Design, which specializes in deep tuning and the production of small-scale cars, has announced a new project - a two-seater sports roadster in the style of the 50s.

The upcoming novelty is called Project Wami. So far, the car exists only in the form of three-dimensional computer models and renderings. Judging by the images, the exterior of Project Wami refers to the Maserati 2000 Spyder of 1955 - the classic model can be recognized in the proportions and body plastic, round optics, radiator grille configuration, etc. However, the Ares windshield will be modern - glued, with a stronger angle inclination of the front pillars.

Salon Project Wami, as well as the exterior, will be performed in retro style: conventional analog dials are used in the instrument cluster, and round ventilation deflectors are used in the front panel.

The body is being developed from scratch, of course, no parts from the old Maserati will be used in it. Project Wami will be built using a frame-and-panel technology – the supporting structure will be welded from steel pipes, and the outer panels will be made from molded plastic.

What units will be used in this machine is unknown. Also, the timing of its release to the market is not specified. But there is information that small-scale production of the roadster is planned.

Recall that Ares Design gained worldwide fame in October 2017 - after the release of a strange tuning of the previous generation Gelendvagen. In July 2018, the company introduced a restomod version of the Land Rover Defender. In addition, the company is preparing a Project Pony supercar with a body design inspired by the 1972 Ferrari 365 GT.
