Jaguar Land Rover has discontinued the three-door Range Rover Evoque crossover ahead of schedule. Reason: extremely low demand. About 95% of Evoque buyers prefer a model with a five-door body, the remaining volume of 5% was divided between a “three-door” and a convertible based on it. There are no plans to remove the Evoque convertible from production - consumer interest in it is relatively high.
Declining demand for cars with three-door bodies is a general trend for the industry. Over the past 18 months, due to poor demand, the three-door version of the Audi A3 and the Volkswagen Scirocco coupe have been discontinued.
The second generation Range Rover Evoque will arrive in 2019. According to preliminary information, it will be available only in the form of a "five-door" and a convertible.
In Russia, the Range Rover Evoque is still available in all three bodies. The five-door version is offered with a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 150 or 180 hp, as well as a 2.0-liter petrol engine with a return of 240 hp. The three-door crossover is available with a 180-horsepower diesel and petrol engine. The convertible is only sold with a petrol engine.
